Barrister Junaid Ahmed has been engaged to represent the accused both at the trial and to plead the post-arrest bail application before the Anti-Narcotics Court Karachi.
The accused was arrested by Customs authorities based on the FIR pertaining to the import of marijuana from Los Angeles, USA, to Karachi, Pakistan. Considering that the relevant special court has been vacant for the past few weeks, and the Link Judge is not expressly empowered to grant/adjudicate bail applications, we also moved a Criminal Transfer Application before the High Court of Sindh (Karachi) to expedite the matter. The Criminal Transfer Application is scheduled to be fixed before the Chief Justice of Sindh.
