This settlement, involving the Travel Agents Association of Pakistan (TAAP) and the International Air Transport Association (IATA) in relation to the remittance cycle, was reached and officially documented during the 16th meeting of the Agency Programmed Joint Council on April 4, 2023. Following this, at the 45th Passenger Agency Conference held from May 31, 2023, to June 1, 2023, the proposal put forth by the Agency Programmed Joint Council was mutually agreed upon and endorsed by the Passenger Agency Conference.
Throughout the process, our firm’s Founding Partner, Barrister Junaid Ahmed, played an integral role as part of the dispute resolution team, providing advice and representing TAAP before the High Court of Sindh in Karachi. Subsequently, our firm was engaged to facilitate an out-of-court settlement between the parties. After the parties finalized their terms, a joint application of compromise was filed by both TAAP and IATA on June 16, 2023, in the High Court. As a result, the Civil Suit filed by TAAP was successfully withdrawn from the High Court.
